Who is it for?
Children and young people who have taken part in participation workshops
Overview:
A simple format for quick, end of workshop feedback and reflections that can be re-created on flip chart paper with post-it notes, online using a tool such as padlet, or on individual worksheets. Children and young people are asked to identify elements of an activity or workshop that they would keep, dump, or change or add.
Key strengths:
The quick and collaborative nature of the task helps to easily gauge a sense of how activities have been received – enabling facilitators to be responsive to participants’ ideas and needs. It is also a great way of generating new ideas. When used regularly the format becomes familiar and children and young people can grow in confidence to use this to influence future activities.
Key challenges:
This tool is unlikely to capture detailed information as it is done quickly. Because it is usually done in a group setting with facilitators present, children and young people may not feel able to be as open or honest as when feeding back alone.
